try harder

747790-try-harder So I have this blog thing, wherein I used to write about how much I loved and/or hated roller derby, but then I felt like it was silly to love/hate roller derby so much that I had to tell strangers about it and I realized that all new derby people think they've discovered some new planet and feel compelled to blog about it and I got cynical and felt embarrassed at being so giddy back in the day. So I started posting things that are virtually content-free and sometimes just injokes with people who don't even believe in blogs.

I also have a Tumblr thing where I post pictures without commenting on them, except when I forget for months at a time that I have a Tumblr thing.

And I'm on Facebook, where sometimes I think I post too much, because none of my friends are really all that interested in Shellac lyrics or what I think of Cy Twombly. And mostly Facebook exists for my derby friends to all post the same thing about a bout that's coming up, tickets are selling out, tickets sold out, repeat every four weeks, and I kind of tune out so I assume that everyone tunes me out, too. Except my brother, who doesn't ever comment but instead calls me to respond to Facebook posts.

So I'm not sure why I post what things where. I think possibly I enjoy being inefficient. So there you have it, person who asked. I suppose I could consolidate, but then I'd have to think about why I even have public web spaces in the first place and who has time to unpack that question?
