The Mad Rollin’ Dolls will play an exhibition roller derby bout at the 2009 Amateur Sports Alliance of North America Softball World Series, “Showdown in MadTown,” on Thursday, Sept. 3. The bout is sponsored by ASANA and Our Lives magazine.
The bout will be at the Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, near Rimrock Road and John Nolen Drive. Doors open at 6 p.m., the bout starts at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Tickets for children 4-10 are half price; children 3 and under are admitted free. After the bout ASANA is hosting a “Sweet ‘80s” post party at the High Noon Saloon, 701 E. Washington Ave., Madison. There is a $5 cover charge to attend the post party.
In honor of the event, skaters from all four Mad Rollin’ Dolls home teams will divide themselves into two softball-themed teams, the Batting Betties and the Diamond Queens. Advance tickets for the bout are available at madrollindolls.com.
The ASANA Softball World Series is held annually and more than 50 women's softball teams will come to Madison Sept. 1 – 5 for a week of fun and competition. All events are open to the public.
